The Kolb FireFly
on 750 Floats

We have been working with Steve Boetto and Kolb to come up with a
practical light weight design for float installation on the Kolb
Firefly. After much effort on Steve's part he has built this
sturdy but light installation kit for the Firefly. Czech aircraft
works specifically build this variation of the 750 floats
exclusively for the Firefly. After many hours of fine tuning and
test flying Steve is very happy with this installation and says it
performs well in all aspects of water and air flying. Additionally
Steve designed a trailer for his aircraft, see photos below.

By using the aluminum floats which weigh in at only 30
lbs, and using the parachute allowance the plane comes in as a part
103 legal ultralight in the U.S. Powered by a Rotax 447 engine the
craft comes out of the water in about 150 feet, climb rates comes in
at 800 feet per minute, with cruise at 5000 rpm coming in at 55 mph.
