Czech Aircraft Works, manufacture of Zenair Aircraft, OMF-Symphony
and Glastar Jump-Start Wings, offers a full line of straight and
amphibious floats. The all-aluminum floats are based on proven designs and
already installed on dozens of different types of homebuilt and ultralight
aircraft , and even on factory-built GA aircraft. Built of modern aircraft
aluminum alloys, the floats feature individual compartments separated by
full bulkheads, a rugged custom extruded keel, and a “walkway”
stiffener along the top(550 to 1450 sizes only). Quality 3M “marine adhesive sealant” makes
the floats very watertight, and the conventional sheet metal construction
is easy to repair if ever damaged. Interior is corrosion proofed with zinc
chromate.
The
quality and workmanship obtained during assembly by our highly skilled
sheet metal fabricators can be seen throughout the building process.
Starting with initial assembly and fabrication followed by disassembly,
and then traveling to the paint shop for all interior surfaces to be
painted with zinc chromate. Followed
by final assembly, where all previously painted parts are bonded
together with urethane sealant compounds. After the assembly process is
complete and the customer has chosen final color, the floats go to our
professional downdraft spray booth facility for the beginning stages of
the painting process. Typically
Dupont two-part epoxy primers are used followed by Dupont linear
urethane paints.
